this is a tiny blog / newsletter made by matt baer, and shared only on instagram. as the name suggests, it’s about something, just not photos, maybe. it'll probably be a lot of little things i write.

okay, there will probably be photos too.

why

this was inspired by friends all making substacks recently, which i love. you should read and subscribe to them all.

otherwise, i wanted my own place in cyberspace to write and share — one that isn’t instagram, with its ads and algorithms. this will live alongside it, in relative peace, with better typography and less bad cropping. it’s made just for the people i know in real life.

how

i'm using software i made, called write.as, to write and publish this. it's a website that anyone can use, built in the spirit of the early 2000's internet, but updated for the modern age. it's a lot like substack, if substack was made by one dude.

of course, i'd be a piss-poor entrepreneur if i didn't mention that you, too, can make a site just like this one by signing up for write.as here. that's a free link to get started, and if you want all the bells and whistles for free, just let me know and i'll hook you up.
